Tasman Leathers 'Natural Selection Range'
In providing us with leather, Nature has
given us the most versatile furniture covering. Leather has a wonderful patina
that improves with age, and has inherent strength and resilience.
Each hide is uniquely individual, bearing
Nature's hallmarks - growth lines, healed scars and shading differences. All of
which make leather an exciting product to work with. And Tasman Leathers works
with only the best of the best hides for our 'naturals',
'semi-finished' and 'finished'
categories of leathers - which is why we proudly refer to them collectively as
our Natural Selection range. For this range,
we use the latest natural tanning processes, employing pigments, rich dyes and
blends of waxes to further enrich the grain and colour.

Although we've improved the ancient craft
of tanning with modern technologies, the quality of the original raw hide is
still paramount. Leather is a natural product that comes from the land. Each
hide is unique, and reveals its history in its texture, grain, and its scars,
nicks and rubs.

About Leather
Leather is the most sensuous furniture
covering, with an unmistakable appeal to your senses. Even with your eyes shut
you will know fine leather when you feel it, on a luxurious armchair or sofa.
Leather is warm in winter and cool in summer.
Unlike synthetic imitations, real leather "breathes" to give you year round
comfort.
Leather ages well, getting more comfortable
over the years, as it moulds to body shapes and softens, acquiring that lived-in
look.
Leather furniture is hardwearing and
typically gains in character as it ages, and requires minimal care to prolong
its life.
Leather is also fire retardant and mould
resistant: few fabrics offer peace of mind!

gives the leather real Rustic aged look and this type of finish is very

This range of leather has a corrected grain
with a pigmented finish and a fine embossed effect.
Our Millenium is specially tanned to produce
a very soft, mellow feel and silky touch.
This feature allows the leather to feel like
a full grain leather and is unique to our corrected grain range.
Because of the type of finishing, the leather is very durable and good for high
traffic residential and commercial applications.

This Full Grain Natural tumbled 1.2/1.4 mm leather has been specially tanned to
maintain a very soft and mellow finish whilst being a very durable leather with
an "aniline appearance".
Manhattan is tanned on best quality European hides and is suitable for all
applications.
